Slovenia – England: Advancing Youth Justice Systems: Cross-National and Global Strategies for Inclusivity and Fairness
ABOUT THE PROJECT
This project will build on the groundwork established by the Slovenia – England: Collaborative Innovations in Youth Justice (SE-CIYJ) project to advance youth justice systems, enhancing inclusivity and fairness in cross-national and global approaches to young people in conflict with the law. As part of the SE-CIYJ project, the teams found that, when exploring youth justice in Slovenia and England, more fundamental questions around childhood, inclusivity, and fairness in the Global North and South emerge. To rethink dominant Anglo-centric criminological theories and European child-friendly youth justice policies, their applicability to countries at the periphery of criminological knowledge should be explored. International perceptual frameworks must be combined, which will be this project’s main objective.
