The book Od blizu ni nihče normalen : izbrani spisi in razprave (Založba /*cf., 2026) presents the first substantial translation of selected writings by the Italian psychiatrist Franco Basaglia, one of the most influential critics of institutional psychiatry in the twentieth century. The selection complements previously translated works by other leading authors in the field and offers Slovenian readers direct access to Basaglia’s thought. A distinctive feature of this edition is its original selection of texts, which includes key theoretical writings produced at different stages of Basaglia’s career, as well as works co-authored with Franco Ongaro Basaglia. The second part of the book contains transcripts of lectures, conversations, and discussions from Basaglia’s visits to Brazil, providing insight into his public engagement and his personal reflections on the development and achievements of psychiatric reform.
