Mojca Plesničar and Lora Briški attended rehearsals for SNG Drama Ljubljana’s production Nam se to ne more zgodit at the invitation of the creative team, where they discussed how we understand and respond to sexual violence. They also contributed articles to the theatre programme, in which they explored some of these issues in greater depth. In her contribution, Mojca Plesničar focused on the role of law in addressing sexual violence and on why sexual violence is not only a legal issue, but also one that concerns individuals and society. Lora Briški examined the search for truth and the limits of evidence in criminal proceedings involving sexual offences. The play raises difficult questions about sexual violence, consent and boundaries, and about how we respond to them – in law, in society and in our relationships with others.
